Environmental and climate protection are central elements of our corporate and sustainability strategy and are crucial to Vonovia’s long‑term success. As the market leader in the residential real estate sector in Europe, we assume responsibility and work to systematically anchor environmental and climate protection in our neighbourhoods and across the industry.

Our focus is on climate action in the existing property portfolio as well as on resource‑ and energy‑efficient new construction and refurbishment. In addition, we incorporate aspects of climate change adaptation, biodiversity, water management and the circular economy into our decision‑making. Our actions are guided by international and national objectives such as the Paris Agreement on climate change, the EU Green Deal and long‑term targets for greenhouse gas‑neutral development by 2045.
