Bochum, August 7, 2026 – In August and September 2026, around 310 apprentices and dual-track students will begin their careers at Vonovia. These young professionals will start in various commercial, technical, and skilled trades apprenticeship programs, as well as in several dual-track degree programs, at Europe’s leading housing company.
“For Vonovia, training is a key lever for securing our long-term growth. This year, we are welcoming many young talents whom we are equipping with the skills they need for our company through hands-on, digital, and consistent training,” explains Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Ruth Werhahn.
A key component is the training and continuing education center in Berlin, which opened last year. At the Skilled Trades Academy, up to 220 trainees per year can engage in application-oriented and digital learning across approximately 3,500 square meters. The focus is on energy and building technology, as well as future technologies such as heat pumps and photovoltaics.
Vonovia offers training in fields such as plant mechanics, electronics, tile setting, and painting, among others. The first graduating class of the Crafts Academy has already successfully completed its journeyman’s examination. Continuing education is also in high demand.
At Vonovia, apprentices benefit from additional benefits such as a company pension plan, capital-forming benefits, and performance-based bonuses. Starting in their second year of training, they can also participate in the stock ownership program; in the trades sector, a subsidy for a driver’s license may be available.
